John Thornton, Senior Creative, Surreal
Keynote title: Selling cereal on LinkedIn (and other nonsense)
Keynote Summary
Marketing expertise. Futuristic technologies. Basic professionalism. Three things that won't feature in John's talk.
Instead he'll be banging on about why being a bit silly on the internet is a great tactic for selling stuff.
His talk will cover: giving your posts personality, getting big reach for big news, persuading your boss to let you be silly.
If he's got time, maybe he'll tell you about when the HR team banned him from the company LinkedIn account.
About John
John gets paid to write daft things on the internet for people like innocent smoothies, The Great Pottery Throwdown, Oxfam, The Bodyshop and the UN (not sure how that happened) and he currently writes words for Surreal Cereal. If you spot any typos on their website, please keep them to yourself.
After eight years working in social media, you'd hope John would have some good advice for going viral or summat, but sadly most of his advice is just to use comic sans or post a picture of a dog.
Oh well. Come along to his talk anyway.
